Gauge Pod and Gauges
I am looking for a pod for our cars.
I have seen the Sema cars where they have them wrapped around the speedo and like a gauge on either side of the speedo. I am looking to put some Autometer Cobalt's in. An oil pressure, and a voltmeter. Anyone know of ANY kind of pod made for our cars yet??? |

need those gauges for a near stock car eh? *sigh*
Short answer, dont think there are any actual pods out for our car specifically...but there are a number of companies that make universal pods, and cups that mount in other places. |

06Ex, some of the cars you saw at SEMA had custom guages in them. The TEIN Si, which had one of the cleanest custom guage clusters that I saw, was custom work with Defi guages. SuperStreet 3/2006 has the write up on the car.
For awhile all we'll be able to do is custom. If you chose to put guages in your car because it's what you're used to, then by all means do it. |

Thats the one ive seen that i liked. However i do not like Defi gauges. So i would go with another gauge. As i said earlier, probably the autometer cobalt. Hmmm. Fiberglass project maybe??? (note to self: learn how to fiberglass) |

How could I tell how modded your car is? Well, you name is 06 EX...so at the most your car is lowered, with wheels, exhaust, and intake. Maybe some exterior and interior dress up parts. Sorry, I am just a strong believer that you dont need the extra gauges unless you are running some sort of forced induction, or nitrous setup. Possibly on a very highly built NA car. |

I wouldn't mind a nice wideband a/f guage in the car. |

If the gauges were placed away from the airbag would there be enough room? |

I dont want them on the pillar, they would be projectile if the airbag ever went off, not to mention they have electricity running to them, so that would make it an electrified projectile....comforting
I guess i will either have to go with a small pod on the dash or custom make a fiberglass panel around the gauges. Thanks guys. |

The a-pillar is not designed to fly at your face in an accident. If it were, it could cause injury with or without gauges. So if there was a gauge on the pillar then it would not fly at your face if the airbag deployed.

have yall taken your a-pillars off? there is no airbag behind them, the airbag is located in the headliner. there is only 3 clips behind the a-pillar, one is non-reusable. there is a rope that connects the airbag to a little way down the pillar but it is not located there....
ebay is great.... |
