Installing Rear HFP lip for Si sedan, cutting?

I was looking at the instructions and it says you need to cut part of the rear bumper???

Anyone installed the rear HFP lip on their Si sedan themselves, do you really need to do this?

esx005 and I installed his hfp kit and he had to cut the bumper, but It was completely covered by the lip as long as it was done right so you shouldn't have a problem. Just follow the directions verbatim and you'll be good.

Aw. I was hoping you wouldn't have to, just encase I decide to take it off for what ever reason and I;m scared to take a hack up my bumper

when i installed mine, i tried to avoid cutting the bumper, but it wont fit well unless you cut it (exhaust portion).

you need to drill holes in the bumper as well, so it wouldn't matter.

it was a little scary to do, but like he said, follow the directions exactly and it comes out mint.

but the holes drilled are under the bumper so you cant see them.

if you sell the hfp lip, just trade bumpers.
