7k mi and too many chips
In only 7k mi my Si seems to be accumulating way too many rock chips. I also have an 04 Nissan Murano with 31k mi and it has as many as my low mile Si.
Are you guys getting alot?? Is it the aerodynamics that's sucking pebbles towards my poor hood and bumper? I'm sure the crappy paint isn't helping. |

its the clearance too, the civic is way lower in stance and lets face it there really isnt a grill and the hood is too short so most of the debris will be focused there, higher vehicles like your suv, would have better clearance from little rock pick ups.
ex. your civic would get nailed on the hood mostly and bumper areas, whereas your murano would maybe get some occasional hits on the hood since its a bit higher, more on the lower region. not to mention honda paint is as soft as eggshells and just as durable. |

exactly why i bit the bullet and had a clear bra installed a few weeks after I purchased my FA5. Sucks paying 300 bucks for it but it's worth it to keep my sanity. During the first few weeks when I didn't have it I already had 2 rocks chips...thin paint FTL
