Hey, i was a previous owner of a 2003.5 mazdaspeed pro, not too long ago i bought a white si coupe, and i just become a new member to 8thcivic, and so far i've been reading all kinds of good threats you guys put up and thanks very much for them. i like to also let you guys know that my english isnt all that great so please excuse me if my grammar is terrible. anyways i own a 06 si coupe and i've been lookin all over the place, talking to ppl, shops and mix matching part numbers between the sedan and coupe, for the reason in that i'm dying to find out if the FD2(type R) conversion can be done with the coupe, replacing fenders, hood, headlights and bumper, even tho the cars are very similar but i havent found anyone or heard of anyone that had it done on the coupe, i really would like to swap to FD2 if possible. thanks |

i seriously dont think its worth the time and money to do something like that, in fact, i dont even think it'll look good. The design was made by Honda...and it goes with the flow of the body, Sedan has slightly bigger parts than the coupe...but everything flows correctly with its larger/longer body...if you put it on a sedan (even if you did find someone who would customize it for you)...it just wouldnt look nice, bottom line is, if your car is new...i would trade it for sedan, and do the conversion...with all the money you loose on the trade...i firmly believe its cheaper than fabricating and customizing it to fit on your coupe.

You can do it, its just going to be alot of work and $$$.
When Sickyute did the conversion on his sedan him and Bizzy bear lined up the fenders on Bizzy's coupe. It would fit but the feder did not line up at the the front of the door jam. So Bizzy prettry much said that you would have to cut the JDM fender and the USDM fenders in half above the tire somewhere. Then do a bunch of body work and change all the other parts involving the conversion.

yeah thats what i thought, i kinda had the idea that the fenders were going to be the biggest issue... even tho it looks close to me it wasnt close enough. but hell whats wron with the coupe, to me the coupe is more performance oriented than the sedan overall... (blah honda) the sedan gets all the goodies from what im seeing, all kinds of nice JDM accessories and they left the coupe with leftovers. same with accord
