I know nothing about what it will take to wire the Si speedo/tach in place, and I don't know what how car being an auto will fit into the equation, but they should absolutely fit. Aren't the gauge clusters basically the same between Si/base models? You still have the tach behind the wheel don't you?

Fit, size wise yes. Fit, electronically, not a change. If you don't know electronics, leave it alone. Too many things that are different.

Why would you want a red speedometer? You would still have a blue tachometer.

Yeah I think that'd be weird. I know you aren't asking for opinions but you'll have a red speedometor, blue tach and a blue radio. You can't just change the tach because I doubt you really have the means or know-how to take apart the tach and produce your own sheet that'll be red. If you do, more power to ya

You should change them to green to be unique and different.

^^ one of the dumbest responses ever.

to the OP

i wish people would stop modding ex/lx/dx/hybrids with Si parts. its an Si for a reason, if your gunna take a Si spedo misewell stick a iVTEC sticker on too so when people drive by they totally think its a sleeper si.......till u come to a light.

The only thing I can think of. Is the people that are doing it. Were for example bought the car as a gift and had no say. Then it would make sense to try to change things to what YOU would have wanted. For those that chose a LX or EX and then spend all this money trying to make it look like a Si, those are the ones I really don't get.

In case you guys didn't notice, he said speedo not tach. Last time I checked only the tach actually said Si. The OP said he would make his own red "sheet" for the tach. What's wrong with changing the color of the gauges? I've seen it done on older Civics. As long as you do a full conversion (ie. change the color of tach, odometer, speedo, and radio), it would look pretty sweet.

did anyone ever think that hes not doing it to look like an Si? maybe he just likes the red. if i had an Si i would want to change the lights to blue (prob wouldnt have the guts to do it but i love the blue) and im not sure if its the same person but someone else was looking into this and he changed the si on the tach to R18

I didn't buy the SI cause i'm 22 and the insurance was rediculous. Another reason is the fuel efficiency since I travel 108 kms a day to work and back, premium fuel, and I didn't want to run a high(er) performance motor into high mileage status. It wasn't because of the price of the car, but other reasons. So get back on topic and keep the posts related to the original topic.
