Yes, I do believe that the new aluminum interior kit will sit on top of the factory pieces. This is one reason why I didn't get it. Although it would be nice if we can get the actually pieces.

I was never a big fan of dash kits. It sticks on to the original factory plastic. What I would like to see is trim pieces that replace the factory plastics...THAT would look clean!
