Si spoiler on EX coupe. Possible?

Hey all, i've been dying to get a Civic coupe for over 2 years now and at long last, I have my beauty I picked up on Saturday.

I didn't get an Si mostly due to manny tranny and premium fuel requirements but I LOVE that SI spoiler and I really want that on my coupe.

It sucks though because the EX coupes have this "lip" on the back of the trunk and im wondering if I could install an Si spoiler without removing it. Mostly due because i'd have to fill in the drilled holes and then paint them and then were talking increased costs...

Anyone know if its possible or would look decent with both on or am I just wishfully thinking? I was gonna order the spoiler from spoilerdepot.com as they have the best price for one without Honda's major price jacking

There's hardly any Si's in my area, so that won't work.

I agree, it will definitely be easier to just swap the entire trunk lid with an Si.

If you want to see what it will take to get rid of the trunk lip and fill the holes, check out this thread:
My car was attacked by a "BEAR"

Ricky (JrMartinez24) probably has some pics of his car when he had both the lip and the Si spoiler on it, you should just pm him and ask if you want to see what it would look like.
My gawd, that would cost an arm and a leg to do that. Damnit....I really want that spoiler too....

I think instead of "there really aren't many si's in my area" you really mean "I don't see many Si's in my area".

Post something in the trade forum. I know I would personally drive 3-4 hrs to swap with someone. That means if someone agrees to swap with you, and you meet them 1/2 way, you could find someone pretty far away (depending on how far you want to drive) who will trade you. If I had silver and you were relatively close, I would probably trade you...

what's up? I did this with the help of my friend Roberto. If u know someone that does bodywork then ur straight. I have a GG not an ASM like mentioned above. I myself tried to get someone to swap trunks but that never happened. Bodyshops will cost like $300-500 to do this, not worth it to me.

I never had both on at the same time b/c I personally don't like it. I had tape covering the holes until I got them filled in

definately try to swap trunks that would be the easiest way of getting it...installing one on the ex trunk is alot of work you gotta remove the lip spoiler cover the 7 holes then drill two new on each side for the si spoiler

Yeah, thats not an option. I have no paint/body skills and the cost to do it wouldn't justify it.

Crap, that wasn't you with both on at once?
I know I saw pics with both...

Damnit, now I'm going to have to go searching for them :X

(I also must be ridiculiously colorblind if I can't tell the difference between ASM and GGM...)

I hear u on this one... I want the SI spoiler pretty badly too.. I ddnt think it was gonna be so complicated to switch from a lip to a wing spoiler later on, otherwise i wud have jus asked the dealer to put the wing one on instead of the lip one when i first ordered my car... i really havnt tried asking for a trunk swap for the same reason that i havnt seen many rr si's in my area... besides dunno if anyone is willin to let go of such a nice spoiler... sigh

You'd be suprised how many Si owners want to get rid of the spoiler to pimp the sleeper look...
It's all just a matter of personal taste.

Might as well just post in the trade section anyway, you never know (might get lucky)

You can also swap for a DX trunk and just buy an Si spoiler to put on it... that wouldn't be nearly as difficult as getting rid of the lip.

Personally I would much prefer the DX trunk lid over the Si. I've ALWAYS been a fan of spoilers (adding them to both my 89 and 93 preludes). I got my 02 RSX-S and decided I liked how it looked wingless better than with a spoiler. When the Si came out, the spoiler was the WORST cosmetic feature of the car in my opinion. Since the RSX-S I've much preferred the wingless look.

I know there are a LOT of Si guys that feel the same.
