Tint help
I live at high altitude in Colorado where the sun is intense 1/2 the time and the other half of the week I am in Grand Junction Colorado which is basically the desert.
2008 LX sedan with the embedded antenna. TomTom with external antenna. I have been quoted $210 for a Global films tint, but installer wasn't very clear which product... another installer quoted $240 for 3m FX-HP... I got a good feeling from the guy. And there is a Lluminar dealer here in Grand Junction... I am going to stay legal at 30%+/-, as Colorado allows 27%... Am I going to be pissed off with my FM reception with the 3M? It also gets darn cold here and I will be using the defroster A LOT. Does this make a difference? Should I be shopping more for an installer or the product? |

Yes, 3M tint-fx HP will affect AM reception and can affect FM reception with the defroster on. Also, it's lifetime warranty does not cover color change.
Global Quick Dry Plus on the rear window and HP Charcoal down the sides would work alright, both have a lifetime warranty against color change. Avoid the Quick Dry. However, Global is my current brand of choice because they're the only company that makes 100% of their product. Some don't even make their film, they just put the components together at the end. |
