all my custom Vinyl overlays

for the ones that havnt seen the other threads about it: i bought 8 foot of gloss black vinyl from a local sign shop for 1.20 a foot and began trying it on stuff

started out with a front JDM emblem

heres the thread for it my custom JDM emblem

then i did what i originally planned on with it. the HFP front lip

(link for the DIY in my Sig)

then i did the lower part of the Si grille

then the door handle trims

then Eyelids :)

finished the emblem

i love the way everything has turned out so far, i plan on doing the lip spoiler too, but i cant get it off lol ill do it later though

i want to do the roof too..but i dont want to do it in 2 pieces..and i cant find any wide enough to do the whole thing

any questions, comments, or suggestions on other stuff let me know!

Not to sound like a dick, but I'd do the whole car.

Then, head up to a meet, then peel it all away. Balleur chameleon paint right there.

hmm..i might can.. but its pretty straight forward really, if you have ever done vinyl work before. just cut a piece as long as you want it (you can always make it shorter by moving it in so u can just cut it off later

Vinyl comes up to 48" wide for most brands.

Now the important thing....did you use cast or calendered vinyl?

Or you can buy that stuff they wrap new cars in for the transport to the dealership. It's super cheap and peels off cleanly.

My guess would be Cast, since it is Auto Vinyl he bought, and it's high Gloss, I don't think Calendered comes in high gloss.

I don't know, some of the intermediate calendered vinyls nowadays are pretty glossy. Nowhere near as glossy as cast, but getting close.

It's usually printed on the back. Avery cast (a9) sucks! It's notorious for shrinking like crazy (worse than calendered).

Bad Avery A8 Vinyl, Shrinking A-8, A-9, A9 - Avery Vinyl Distributors, Suppliers, Universal, FDC, Reviews, Problems Photos, Pictures, Examples, , FDC, Universal

The difference is how it's made and how well it's going to last.

Automotive tapes, masking products, OEM Applications, ProtectRite, Autowrap, American Biltrite

Or just get paint protection film installed.

I think it's a great solution for people who want contrast on a budget. Much better than spending hundreds of dollars on CF pieces to get nearly the same effect!

I don't like it over the lights, emblem, or door handles.
