DAMAGED HEADLIGHTS: Fixable?

Someone sent me damaged Si Headlights. Basically, they threw it in a box and shipped WITHOUT ANY packing material to cushion and support the lights. As a result, one of the headlights has a broken mounting tab. What can be done to fix this???

That's the plan. I sent back tons of pictures outlining the damage to the seller. It's their move before I get nasty.

Exactly, I can "glue" it with industrial cement but the fit and rigidity won't be there.

What kind of imbacile would package headlights like that. Did he think that the shipping company's containers were lined with silk pillows and had santas helpers working there? I would file a dispute and send them back right away.

file a dispute and sent it back is the best things to do now. if you glue it, theres a chance that it won't be position or aim properly. you can adjust the light up and down, but i'm not sure about sideway.

if you're going to 'glue' use weld-on #16. weld-on is an acrylic 'glue' that melds plastics (styrene, butyrate, polycarbonate, and other plastics) together very, very well (weld-on is basically liquid acrylic-- when it sets, it is extremely strong). you can pick it up at any TAP plastic store (if you have any around your area, that is) or online.

Hell no, i'm not going to use Glue. In fact, I'm not going to use these headlights at all. Maybe some of you can confirm this for me? Is the rear black housing of the coupe headlights identical to the Si one? I'm assuming so. The only difference is the internals, which the Si has the amber "rings". Am I right? If so, I'll just source out lower trim model headlights and use that piece.

I'm filing a dispute with eBay. The seller is washing her hands of all responsibility. When I'm done with this, I will post her ebay ID and name. Gotta warn my fellow 8th gen members!

cool. i'm just sayin' though, if you keep the headlights, they can be fixed with weld-on. that really sucks that she shipped them like that and then didn't even try to help you out. shady. goodluck with everything, man!

glad you found out. you can always tell if it's a Si or a regular civic headlights by just looking at the housing carefully.
