Modifining the Stock SI seat???

I am 6' 1", and i like to auto cross and want to eventually track my car. But when i race i have to lean my seat back so the helmet fits. But by doing that i'm not in a comfortable driving position. I wanted to know if anyone has or knows if we can put racing set rails on an si to lower the seat but not disengage the side impact airbags. i'm not concerned about height adjustment. If thats not possible. is it possible to put in a lower racing seat and not a CEL, about the air bag sensor? Thanks

iam in the same boat as you iam 6' 2 i have been thinking about getting an after market seat that sets lower but i plan on buying a welder later this month i want to try and make the stock seat lower if i can iam sure if you went to a good fab shop they would work something out for you oh and if you put a aftermarket seat you wont have a CEL your SRS light will be on and iam sure that there is a way to keep the lightof by use some kinda wired up conecter to complete the curcit

Yea can't its as far as it can get to the floor. But with my in proper racing position my head is virtually touching the head liner.

Yea, i wanted to see if there was a way to mod the stock seat with new rails but not have to ditch the SRS wiring.

Ouch. I'm 5'11" and when I got my Si I got a little concerned that a helmet would be a tight fit. Best of luck!

Open the sunroof.

I wouldn't think there'd be a way to switch the seats themselves without the SRS light going off. Lower seat rails might work, but does anyone make them for stock seats?
