Spoiler on Civic Coupe??

Has anyone put a spoiler on their Civic Coupe.

I think the SI's look so much better because of their rear spooler.

Has anyone taken off that small lip on and installed an aftermarket spoiler similar to that of the SI model.

I asked the dealer if this was possible when I purchased the Car and he said that Honda doesn't do it.

So that's why I see a bunch of non-Si coupes with the Si wing on AND the trunk lip installed. I find it looks too busy back there with both spoilers on... and 2 brake lights isn't my cup of tea.

yea, that would probably look very cheap leaving that lip on and putting a spoiler on top of that.

I would like to remove the lip and then put the spoiler on.

has anyone on here had this done??

You can do it..but you have to fill those holes for the lip spoiler and get that part repainted.

It'll cost you around 200-300$ I'm pretty sure.

that spoiler is held in place with screws?

I though they used this super adhesive to stick it on!

wow, I would leave my laundry out to dry on that wing (not meant to offend the owner, if you like it that way, it's all that matters)

No..it isnt glued on. :

There are many holes drilled into the trunk where its held in with these white clip pins. Have you ever looked under your trunk lid before?

You have holes drilled into your trunk for that spoiler as well. The holes are just in differnet locations and there maybe less or more.

Even cheap ebay special aftermarket spoilers require you to drill holes to mount them. No way Honda would just glue something onto their car and have it fly off on the highway.

I know, I saw the holes and bolts and all... I just had knowledge that some lip type trunk spoilers are stick ons like BMW M3 replica wings sold on ebay. That 3M stuff can be quite strong.

its held on by 8 screws, so there will be 8 holes to fill, and they will prob tell you they have to repaint the whole trunk. some3 have been quoted for $400. but if just searched you woulda found all this out.
