Electric Steering?

I bought my 08 civic lx, through my dad becuase he manages a honda dealership and i recently found out that ONLY the 08 civics in standard transmission come with electric steering (Like the s2000). They did this because federal government would play out $1000 for the best fuel economy and the civic missed it last year by (.5%) over another vehicle. The electric steering know comes stock in the 08 civic here in British Columbia, Canada. Just wanted to know if anyone in any other province or country (USA) has electric steering too?

Ahh... i think all the 2006+ Civics come with Drive-by-Wire and Throttle-by-wire. Atleast here in the US.

^^drive by wire and throttle by wire are the same thing. also if you think that theres no physical connection to the wheels in your car your mistaken..only the power steering is electric. the actually steering is still a physical connection.

i was under the impression that any DX/LX/EX regardless of transmission had hydraulic steering, and the Si/Hybrid etc had electric...

the owner's manual that I have essentially states that the EX, LX, DX do not have electric steering. The Si does have electric steering. I wouldn't know about the hybrid because it's not listed.

i think the hybrid HAS to have electric steering right? because if it shuts off the engine when your going slow, then hydraulic steering wouldnt work..

iim pretty sure my 06 ex has hydrolic steering
