Honda accessory shift knob installed (pics)

I finally got rid of my stock "joystick" and installed a real knob from Honda accessory.

Intallation took me about 5 minutes, very simple and straight forward, and the end result...just look for yourself.

Instruction is here http://www.handa-accessories.com/rsx/08U92.pdf

the boot looks too far down, can you fix that?

I'm considering the same knob. It looks real good.

Does it sit any lower then the stock knob? I though the acc. knobs came with the boot adaptor to attach the boot properly.

Since you can only thread in the knob so much, the knob sits at a height just like the stock knob.

I used everything that came with the kit to do the install, and I prefer this knob over my stock "joystick"....shifting is so nice now with the knob and Redline synthetic tranny fluid.

The orange thing in the cig ligher is a negative ion generator, it reacts with sunlight, and will kill all germs/bacteria/odor...a pretty cool gadget from japan.

I like it, but I agree with the others. There's got to be a way to get the boot attached properly.

By the way...where did you buy this?

Any online Honda/Acura parts retailers should carry them. You could even order one from a local dealer.

My old Civic had a similar problem withthe boot sagging. What I did was place a rubber grommet on the shifter below the knob, but under the boot. It held the boot up perfectly.

Something like this...

total bs??

The website says that theirs creates negative ions, while some others create positive ions. Anyone else have issues with this? I think that any device of this type would have to create both (if it does at all) - a little governing law of physics about the conseravtion of matter.... amazing what people are allowed to say in advertising their products.......

Do those negative ion things work? That's kinda neat. The shift knob is missing a gear! Sorry, just had to be an ass :)

I think the negative ion generator thingy works..why? Because my car now smells exactly like.....like....NOTHING...yep...it smells like NOTHING>

The thing actually cancels out my squash air refreshner...the irony

It's not a new technology, top of the line Sharp in house air purifier has this feature built in, and it works....
