Darker Honda Badges?

Is there a *relatively* easy way to darken the Honda badges, particularly the big H in front?

Take them off and respray them. I wound up buying all new ones, front H, back H, and civic logo. Picked up an Si grille, painted everything gunmetal (except the silver part on the grille). Everything came out good. I was planning on painting the wheels gunmetal to match, still might, but gonna pick up the hfp front lip first. I think I wetsanded everything kinda lightly just to scuff it up, did like 4 or 5 coats of gunmetal, let it dry a little while, then 4 or 5 coats of clear. Got some pics on here, hope they are of help...My ASM Coupe

looks nice how long did it all take and how much did it cost?

1chin3s3_b0i, do you have pics and how did the grafixpressions go? i plan on putting them on the regular USDM badges, not the JDM ones which are totally flat

I think I paid around $100 for the grille and all the badges, plus a bunch of other screws that I didn't need because they already came with the grille and badges. I think I gave like 5 or 10 minutes between coats of paint, might have waited a day or two for it to dry, then 5 or 10 minutes between coats of clear. I ordered them from South Bay Honda, unfortunately, I ordered the rear H for the Si, which is bigger than that of LX, so to order the correct one by itself was something like $13 and shipping was $13, sucks, but I won't order the wrong part again

I painted my Hs and it came out awesome, and was about 5 bucks, just sand spray paint, and clear coat

How is the front H attached to the grill? The back is just with industrial tape or something like that if i remember correctly

how did you keep the spray from getting on other parts? seems like itd be a huge pain to tape it all off correctly, but that sounds like a good idea too

Front H is just 2 screws, rear H's is 2 locking pins and a little bit of tape. I cut off the locking pieces that went through the trunk since I had the new emblem, you can probably pop them out, but I was kinda rushing to get everything on at once. Civic logo was just tape.

the front emblem has 2 screws...after you take off the grille which you have to do to take off the emblem. i got my rear logo out without breaking it, i still have the stock one on right now. just black. one of the clips that holds the pins in flew out, but i did find it

Uh, how would that work considering the overlay is a large sticker designed to be placed on the JDM emblems. That, and the JDM DC5 emblem people use are smaller than the regular H emblem.

Oh ok, I see now. Best bet would be to take off your emblems and spray paint them, although you will need new tape for the rear emblem and the front emblem might require you to take off your grill to access the screws.

I just did the front today, i will get some more pics in the morning with a digital camera, I have the back and front done now, looks a lot better than the ugly chrome...the red matches the SI red almost exactly

and 5 dollars compared to almost 100 for the jdm....i love the jdm but i want to improve my performance first, then spend money on the outside of the car!

sorry for the bad pic, i used the camera on my computer...haha weak!
