im guessing they are not legal...pretty sure you have to have your own plate on the front...but...with that being said, you prolly would not run into too much trouble. ive been with out a front plate for years (dont like the look) and ive only got pulled over for it once. $10 fix it ticket and i took it off again after the ticket cleared. havent been pulled over for this in years though. youd prolly be ok...

Because they think it is cool to have a japanese front plate... Just like how all those euro lovin folks think its cool to put a euro plate behind their US plate. Why people do it, I don't know. All I know is no one has yet to replace their US plate with a plate from a different country on the street and I've seen it in the front or behind the rear more than enough times to justify that there is demand for these silly things.
