Pre-painted OEM Style Spoiler on EBAY???

I have a spoiler-less sedan and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the pre-painted oem style spoilers on ebay. It's so much cheaper than buying from Honda at less than $200.

$130

$185

$200

Looks like some of they use the same pictures. Think it's a good idea?

Thanks.

With eBay, you can never be too sure. Look at the user rating. If there are any negatives, look in the feedback and see what the negatives were about. Quality of product? Shipping? Etc. Also, e-mail the seller a question or two. Ask what it's made of, did they use Honda paint, are instructions included...?
Once you've done that, if you feel confident you're still getting a good deal, go for it. If not, it's probably worth the extra $100+ for a quality OEM Honda part and the customer service.

TrimKing is the shiat. Alot of member from Clubrsx have bought OEM and Type R spoilers from them and they have great customer service. I havent heard one complaint about the paint or customer service.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments.

The trimking one is coincendentally the most expensive one, but it'll be worth it if it is indeed OE quality.

The one from Honda is listed for $499, so the ebay ones are less than half the cost.

Any other comments are welcomed!

Thx

I put in Honda Lip spoiler on my ex sedan... they came with bigger trunk springs for the extra load the spoiler puts on the trunk. Don't know if the one on Ebay come with springs to replace the factory ones. The Honda costs about $386 online. I would go with genuine Honda.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't know the trunk required heavy-duty springs...

Here's what I found listed on honda.com.

MSRP $499
Installation costs not included.

High mount design creates a sporty custom look

* Color matched to original factory specifications to provide a custom finished look
* Includes integrated D.O.T.- approved L.E.D. brake light, enhancing the Civic's appearance
* Heavy-duty trunk-lid springs support the added weight of the spoiler so the trunk lid stays up when opened

Guess that makes the ebay ones less attractive from a price standpoint.

Bought a spoiler for my 2000 Miata a few years back via Ebay. Believe the firm was called Spoilers Depot or something to that nature. It had simplier, nicer looking spoilers than Mazda had. And cheaper. Spoiler arrived carefully wrapped in a nice carton, finish was amazing and it was super easy to install. My only worry was that I had to drill 2 holes in the trunk deck to mount the spoiler and was worried about mucking that up. A template was included and it worked out fine. If the the Ebay vendor has 100s of positive feedbacks, you probably will be fine.

Yea, the ebay vendor has hundreds of good feedbacks, but now I'm worried that I'll need to buy new "springs" to compensate for the heavier trunk after adding the spoiler.

I haven't verified with Honda to see how much those springs cost, but if they costs $386 like the previous poster posted, then that makes the ebay spoiler more expensive.

But $386 for springs???! That's ridiculous. I wouldn't have guess they were more than $50 each.

The spoiler + springs cost $386. Oh... and you may also need the trunk spring removal tool. That costs about $20 online or you can just use a long pry bar as someone in another post suggested. I went and bought the tool to use on mine.

You get what you pay for, sometimes a cheap imitation is just that ... cheap.
