Regamasters are nice. I have a friend with an EP3 on some white Evo's.

You know you could have just take out the spare, replace the stock seats (~30lbs each), replace the stock wheels with light weight ones...
So lets see, you'd rather spend about an hour or 2 and about $2K rather than do some work, and most importantly, something you wanted to do?

EDIT: wait a second... isn't this (Stripping the entire car's interior ***PICS***) your thread asking how to remove all the interior carpeting to install DynaMat?! Shouldn't that take just about the same amount of time, if not longer?! And its for a reason that not everyone thinks is a worthy cause. My guess is you think this is a stupid idea because you are more of a audiophile. I'm sure some people on here would think adding more weight to your car with DynaMat is a waste of time too. Either way, leave the guy alone, he's doing what he bought the car for, just like you and your DynaMat project. I really never see the point in people posting negative comments in someone else's threads without even attempting to give any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

This might be the most ridiculous thing I've yet to see on this forum.
if done str8 thru (with a beer at hand) taking out a dash should only take a couple of hours... maybe 1-2hrs depending on experience level...

Should have done a DIY on removing the dash while you were at it.
this i don't agree with... taking out the dash is not something u can just tell someone how to do... u have to see it for urself... then try it yourself... takes good memory too when putting it back together... good job on that K20 SDN

OP: Good work, don't let the haters get you down. As long as you keep it clean you'll get a thumbs up from me. Besides, what were you going to do with the 15 hours that was so great anyway? I think I missed this part, though: are you trying to just lighten up, or are you trying to match a Type R?
it doesn't necessarily have to match the Type-R...I'm just trying to get a couple hundred pounds off the car since NA lacks of crazy power like those fast turbo cars out there.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback on my project. I will keep u guys posted and start putting more pics on what I do to the car more often.

That's hilarious. He rips out the thing protecting the electronic components in the dash from the engine heat, and we're wondering if he cleaned that IMPOSSIBLE spot on the windshield.

On the other hand, I bet it sounds amazing.

yeah type-r doesn't have them so u don't need them... :)

u might want to look into getting rid of the sunroof and replacing it with the DX/LX sedans roof... it's not that hard to do if u have a drill welder and sum glue ur pretty much set...

Keeping the driver's side airbag?

And yeah, the sunroof's quite a clunker, but that'd be a lot of work swapping in an LX roof plus lining. That'd be the coolest mod, IMO.

no offense but thats just well....I think your life is more important that imitating a type R. If you wanted to strip the car and make it light why not get an old hatch or coupe and engine swap and lighen it. No sense in buying a 20k car and stripping it. I agree with removing un nessesary weight but i think you should keep em. I really liked the fire wall idea im not hating, but its just what i think

Im with you on NA cars needing to lightn up. But wouldnt it work just as well you buy lighter things as you go like new seats and CF hood and Trunk and loose the wing? Thats what Im going for anyway. Sorry to see the Subie picks man, I got my speed3 hit from behind and insurance didnt pay for a dime on a new car so I bought an Si. Damn I miss boost...

it's actually not a lot of work... it's only the moldings on the roof... the spot welds that hold it on... u have to remove the front and rear glass tho... that's the worst part of it...

or he would just have to remove the sunroof/motor/etc... and just put a carbon fiber cover on the hole...
