Fiji Blue Eyelid Review (kind of...)
So my first impression of the eyelids when I first got them in the mail was "WOW!!!" I thought the color of the Fiji eyelids were a perfect match. It even had a metallic sparkle to it. Of course that was at night and I didn't have good lighting outside.
So in the morning, I did the install. I got a double layer of the overlays from Blue Batmobile. Good thing I did too. The "fiji blue" eyelids were transparent. So it would not be the same color if installed without a black layer underneath. My first impression of the film was that it was very thin. It is not the same as the Lamin-X film that I had put on my tails and fogs. You have to be really careful with the install since you cannot just peel it and reapply it as many times as you like once it dries. To make the install easier, just dip the whole overlay in soapy water dry with a hair dryer once it is positioned in the right place. After I was done with the install, I realized that the color of the eyelids were still a tad bit lighter than the paint. The metallic specks seemed to make it a bit lighter. Because it was lighter than the paint, it made it look kind of cheap.... So I will probably just rip it off later. I feel like I wasted $27, but I guess that's what I get for being too excited about it. Kind of wished I would have just bought the GraffiXpression emblems instead. Live and learn I guess... Sorry, but I only have pictures of it at night time since I couldn't get my camera to work during the day. I will take more pictures of it later on today when the sun is up. Apparently, it doesn't look bad at night or if you look at it from the side. If you face the front of the car during the day time, you can tell it looks a little strange. ![]() ![]() As you can see, it does not affect light output at all for those with a retrofit. The cut off about an inch under the eyelids. Too bad it looks too tacky when the color doesn't match. So for the Fiji owners out there that are interested in the eyelids, the eyelids aren't bad if you don't mind the color being off a little. It bugs me a lot that the color doesn't match completely, so I will be ripping the film off after I take some day time pics. UPDATE Since I'm trying so hard not to (start and) finish my research paper (which is due in less than 12 hours), I decided to come out at sun rise to take pictures of the eyelids. You can kind of see the small difference between the two shades. It is a very close match though. Just not close enough for me. ![]() ![]()

The eyelids are made from vinyl. The headlight/taillight/fog is a protective vinyl which is 8mm or more thick.

Thought about it since I got some scratches due to rocks on the freeway, but I like it better without it. I was even considering selling the hood and putting back the stock hood, but my girlfriend said that she liked it. So I thought I would just keep it.
