Smoked tail lights

I have a question about smoke tail lights. Does California allow putting smoke tail lights to the car? (those tinted ones that you put on the lights to make it look darker). Im just worried that the cops might give a damn about it. Im having a civic this nov.

I recall seeing somewhere (I can't find the link/thread to save my life though) that as long as the reflectors are still and do their job that it is allowed. I HAVE NO PROOF OF THIS THOUGH!!!!

On a slight side note, I have Blue Batmobile's 6/10 overlay on my rear taillights and have had numerous CHP's behind me on my way home from work everyday and have never had an problems with it thus far. It changes the color of the lense without really effecting the light output.

Good luck.

*check out this guy's stuff. I'll vouch for him as a seller. http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y42...s%208th%20gen/ *

The great thing about my Overlays is even with my darker 6/10 tint, the reflectors are still quite visible ). I do however, offer a lighter 3/10 tint. Personally, I've never been cited for my tinted Overlays .

maybe if I just put a lighter smoked tail light for it then I might not get any attention from the cops? I really want to have it installed because it will really look good on a taffeta white civic.

do u think it would be eassy 2 just do the red sectoin and leave the reverse light the way it is? or would that be a pain in the ass?

u dont have to buy new tail lights.... use paint thinner...

thats why overlayz are so much better. Easy to use & removed.

i got BB's 3/10 overlays... they werent hard to put on and they look better then stock. if you EVER get pulled over for them you can just peel them off and goo gone the leftover.

i like mine and may go darker in the future... but they work nicely and ive gotten compliments on them. : )
