Any interest in a short throw shifter ?
Hi all.. I am the proud owner of a new SI as of last night and wanted to give a shout out to everyone..Just an FYI and going on the record as well, I am the National Sales Manager for B&M Racing and we are developing a short shifter for the new honda. This is not a sales pitch in any way, but just an FYI to see if anybody would be interested in this once released?..I plan on spending alot of time on these forums and I am sure I will get to know alot of you soon so if I can help in any way let me know...Looking forward to all the good info shared here....Chris

The shifter in the SI is nice and very easy to use no question. We are looking at about a 30% reduction in throw. The shifter throw does seem a bit long to me and could possibly benefit from a revised model.. Any other comments?

OOH OOH I wnat one. I had a B&M in my Protege5 and it was awesome. A shorter throw would be nice but the feel is what i want improved. To me it feels like a spoon in mashed potatoes.
Please keep us posted. |

yes the throws in the Si are kinda long...at first ti felt short...but then i also got a 06 6mt accord coupe and that is what u call a short shifter...it feels soo much shorter than the Si's that the Si's own feels long...so i'd love it for the Si's shifter to feel like the accord's and i'd def. get it...but u'll have stiff competition from comptech as they to will have one out pretty soon.

Will it be an entire shifter assemble like the Revo unit for the 01-05 Civic, a short shift adapter like B&M offers for the 01-05 Civic (#45063) or just the shifter rod (#45121) B&M offers for the RSX?
I don't like how vague the shifter feels compared to the 96-00 Civics. The newer models use a cable type shift linkage that feels so sloppy to me compared to the older Civics rod linkage. |

I may be all over this aswell. i would like it to sit alittle shorter though than the stock shifter on the SI. Also- a much crisper feel aswell. But with that being said. None of my friends have EVER had a complaint with a B&M product and many swear by their short shifters. |

Thanks Alll...Good feedback!...Just to update, we are getting in the final few small parts needed to do a test fit (in my car of course
and then we will get it all priced out ,write the install manual and get -er-done.. I anticipate having some pricing in a couple weeks on the unit and from the prototypes I have seen from engineering it looks like it will be a shifter assembly, but I cannot promise that right now until they have finalized the exact unit we will go with. I will be happy to organize a group special for the members here when the time comes. I will offer you guys the first ones avail!...gotta go
