Missing Holes

So I was outside looking at my car when I noticed something interesting. This is the black panel between the hood and the windshield.

This is the driver's side:

and this is the passenger side...

Yes, I realize I have some wax on the panel. But WHY is one side missing holes?

This is an EX FG1, btw.

Just the ways its designed i guess. BTW just spread some everyday peanut butter on the black trim to get the wax off. Let It sit a few mins, and then wipe/polish off!!!!

^^^ The wax is off of the panels, but I'm still missing holes?

Is anyone else's car like that?

I would think that there is nothing to vent in that area. The "fake" holes or dimples are there to make the passenger side match (in appearance) the drivers side of the area between the hood and windshield.

Just take a drill and make the rest of the holes yourself.

Oh **** dude... Their was a service anouncement sent out a while back about this.

Apparently a few hundred models came with defective hood venting like yours has where the holes were not fully drilled out.

If you search in these forums you'll see a few people here has had the same problem with catastrophic results later on. Their engines overheated and blew up causing a few deaths and scarred children on school buses nearby this event because of inadequate ventilation. It's sad something so small could cause this but it's happened.

So get that shit fixed son!

Best $2.99 I ever spent.

My area has the dimples like that also......I never noticed it was asymmetrical.
