Looks pretty good. They honestly shouldn't have drilled your bumper. There was no need.

Yeah, they have mounting brackets that screw into the grill or under the bumper, asolutely no need to drill a hole through it.

Bummer on the drill job. It does look better without it.

Actually that looks damn good, aside from the hole. A few quick thoughts.

What are the legalities of removing the front license plate. I think in California it's legal to display your tag in only one place. True?

Is there a way to remove the tag holder without drilling the bumper?

The only thing that makes me nervous about removing this is that inevitably i will hit something with the front bumper and, if the plate holder is gone, it will scratch or dent the fender. We've all discovered that the hood is invisible while driving. Don't get me wrong--I love how that impacts the driving experience--but it means that one day i will misjudge where the front of my car is in relation to a tree or pole or something else. Ding!

Looks much better :)

I took mine off as well. The front plate was on when I took delivery. When I took it off I thought there would be holes in the bumper as well, but there wasn't.
Like letsgoflyers said, they have mounting brackets that screw under the bumper.

I think states that require tags on the front require the dealers to drill so people won't take the plate off.
I'd be pissed to find a hole in my bumper when there's a mounting bracket that doesn't require any drilling.

By tag holder, you mean the license bracket? Your license plate has to be visable on your bumper, windshield will not do. They do this for the traffic cameras at the lights. Cops do ticket your car even if its parked if they see no front plate, so be careful.

Yep, thats what my dealer told me. I went back demanding them to fix the hole or a whole new bumper but they showed me some document requiring them to do this. They told me they drill it ASAP right when it gets off the truck. The only way they won't drill the hole is if the car is sold and taken that same day right off the truck.

I removed the front plate too and am kind of pissed about that hole but a drop of putty and some matching paint will take care of that... I dont even notice it.

Just confirmed that this is a no-no in California. It will result in a fix-it ticket.

My front license plate holder came in the trunk - still in plastic. Never really looked at it, but it would be cool if I can install it with drilling.

I'm up in NH, where front display is mandatory. However, until my initial plates come in, I removed the front plate holder and to my delight, it wasn't drilled, two screws holding it into a grill bracket. I won't be too angry about having the license plate "SI" though! :-)
