Shift Knob Opinions

Okay, I think I am going to get the TWM Performance M1 Shift knob.... but I don't know which color... Obviously not the blue, but I am torn between the other 3. Which one do you think would best compliment the interior of the Si?

Stainless, Satin, or Flat Black?

i have a momo knob for sale that sits REAL low, it matches the silver trim in the car perfectly too. i'll send it to you for 30 bucks since i painted the base of it.

btw its friction fit, not screw.

I appreciate the offer but I will have to pass I've had my eyes set on these knobs for a while now. Not too worried about the price, just trying to figure out which color I should get.

Before you order, check this site. Same type knobs at half the price.

http://www.ricks2k.com/products/shiftknob.php

I'm using the textured black. My throw is signifigantly shorter than even the previous Skunk2 knob.

That's what I did, but the downfall is that while the aluminum ones are cheaper, they're very light and don't provide any counterweight (I have the polished aluminum Voodoo knob). They also scratch easily, which is made worse in my case because I wear a ring on my right hand. Rick's titanium knobs are heavier, but more expensive.
Those M1 knobs are cheaper than Rick's titanium knobs and they are also heavier, which makes it the better option, IMO.

Just my $0.02...

*EDIT* Voted satin

Very good points. The lack of weight was my only gripe, but I've gotten used to it & like it none-the-less.

To the OP, I'm sorry if it seems like I was trying to make a one vs the other thread-- I just wanted to throw out another option for you.

Ditto. I just replied on that one because the Voodoo knob is the only one I can comment on.... for now.

I have a TWM Type R in Gun Blue/Satin Black, and I can say, get the silver Satin finish. My friend has the M1 in that color, and it's just a bit faster to cool down than mine.

And I agree with J-Ro. TWM may be expensive, but it IS counterweighted and counter sunk. It sinks too low for me, actually. I had to put the lock nut all the way in so it sits just right.

I might be buying an M1 myself soon, so my Type R will be on sale!

Yeah, I use my old pipeglove for snowboarding to cover it up. It still burns up like crazy -- and I'm talking about 20-30 minutes to cool down...

You're right too, black blends in TOO much.

well so far the only thing the poll has done is eliminate Stainless Steel lol ... what about heat? usually things that are powdercoated/painted don't get as hot... you think the black one would stay cooler?

NO. It's hotter. As I've stated, my friend has the M1, and his cools down much faster than mine does. He does have an S2k, but I don't think that makes much difference.
