Another tint thread (opinions please)

So..... I'm getting my windows tinted. I called a reputable shop today near my house and got the following quote:

$180.00 for 35% or 50% all around, including windshield strip.

$205.00 for 20% all around, including windshield strip.

$150.00 for 45% full windshield (the lowest % they will go).

Considering I have Atomic Blue... what do you think would look better? Right now, I'm leaning towards 20% all around and 45% full windshield...

I've looked through almost every other tint thread I could find on here, and have only seen maybe 2 Atomic Blue's with tint. I think darker looks better on it...

The windshield itself seems expensive but if I skip that, I thought it seemed pretty inexpensive. One of my friends went to the same company but at a different location, and it was $420 for 20% all around, 3M brand. I didn't ask them if this quote was for their shop's brand or 3M.

I paid $225 for Limo tint (5%) on the Back 3 and the Top of the windshield and 35% on the Driver's and Passenger windows. Top of the line tint and lifetime Warranty too.

I'm surprised that the shop charges different prices for different percentages. The place I went to had a flat fee for tints of any percentage. Regarding the prices, I think the quotes you got are fair, if the shop is indeed reputable. You get what you pay for with tints. $420 is way too much, and $100 is ridiculously cheap. With that said, I would get the 20%, but not tint the windshield.

WOW DAMN THATS EXPENSIVE

Here in PR, you can get a Really Professional Tint Job, Any % you want (all % cost the same dont know why your prices vary from %) For $75-$100 depending the size of the car, and this is with what they call "industrial Tint" its REALLY BIG so you dont have to have a cut on the middle of a big window (like the windshield on this cars) and its also better quality that the rolls that Advance Auto sells, hehe

That does sound really expensive. I pay lower than those prices in Canadian dollars. That should give you an idea of how expensive you're paying. From that list, I'd opt for 20% all around. I personally think one tint percentage looks best. The contrast from two different percentages will make the lighter grade look even lighter.

IMO, see if you can get a discount if you DON'T do the sunstrip in the front. I'd get the 35% or 20% but without the sunstrip. No windshield tint.
