painting a cf hood - possbile doh!!

is that possible or is that the point...u dont hav to? ne pics?

it can be done np...
Just make sure the painter is aware of the process...

some hoods use a releasing agent that paint does not like to adhere to.

just an fyi...
Pearl is a great thing on a cf hood.

My friend painted his CF on on his VW R32. It is just the same color as his car and no way to tell it is Carbon Fiber.

I've seen translucent paint on a carbon hood. You could tell it was CF but it was paint matched to the car. I'll have to look for a picture.

If you are just going to paint over the hood and not see the carbon fiber you could try and find a fiberglass hood or have one made. Fiberglass is lighter then carbon fiber and less expensive.

i'd agree with the less expensive part... not the lighter part, though. fiberglass is NOT lighter than cf.
