980 mile roadtrip

Hey guys, in august im going on a roadtrip from Houston, TX to Orlando, FL. Mapquest says its 979.8 miles and I was wondering what would be the best way to keep my car from getting damaged? (rocks, bugs,.. ) im more concerned with the paint than with anything else

There is a spray paint that is water based and water soluble that can be easily removed by a spray wash at a car wash. I saw it on Speed Channel on one of the car programs. I can't remember but I think it was Krylon that sold it.

So the blue painters tape - does it come off easy say after a week and does no damage to the paint. I'm getting ready for a trip from LI to NC and think this is a good idea.

I drive long-distance frequently..and have a clear bra on the hood and fenders. I highly recommend the clear bra.

For the front bumper, at each gas stop I use the windshield washing tool which does a great job removing bugs etc.

Staying well behind large trucks is also advised.

Thanks - Appreciate the input. As I said I'll be putting 1200 miles driving on I95 and will use the tape and keep the front end protected.
