So I just took my moonroof visor off...

to clean under it and the paint on my roof where the visor meets the roof has totally fuc*ed my paint. Its just like a million little scratches that im pretty sure cant be buffed out. Any one else with this problem? I kinda expected it but it just sucks to see it. Anyone else?

Every car I've seen that has had a visor always has f*cked up paint when it's removed after it's been there for a while. Dirt gets under the seal and rubs away the paint when it moves.

That thing serves no purpose other than blocking part of the sunroof from view of the cockpit.

took mine off and my paint is messed up too. I haven't had a chance to get rubbing compound to try to remove the crap. I currently have the sun roof visor attached to my office wall.

Don't even waste your time on the rubbing compound, I tried it all. Pretty much if yours looks anything like mine theres no saving the missing paint/clearcoat

I actually enjoyed mine while it was on. It did block the view of the sunroof but it really cut down on the wind noise. But about a week ago I took it off a *SURPRISE!* it left me wonderful scratches in my paint! Perfect thread to post a picture of it!

Here's what it looked like when it was on my car:

Verdict: For me, it was nice for a while when I had it on. If you are planning to leave it on there permanently, it may be okay for some people. But not for most.

There is hope yet, my buddy came and buffed out my car at my job. looks great. mine looked just like 06RREX, i didn't take any before pictures, but i took after pictures, he only charged me 15 bucks, for that, and scratch on the hood and the back of the bumper.

there we go.

i am never putting that thing back on.
