gaps in HFP kit?

I had my HFP ground effects put on the other day. It fits snug in most places, but in a couple spots, it doesnt. The gap isnt very big, but it is still noticable. Does anybody else with the kit have this issue? Should I worry about this or am I just being paraniod?

You should have no gaps....Where are the gaps located? Sounds like the double-side tape failed to adhere....I would take it back for sure if that's the case.

Maybe I didnt word it right. Not really "gaps" but parts where it isnt as snug against the car.

Hmmm....mine is very snug all the way around....If you look close you should see that the tape is tight to the body with no gaps....do a search for some pictures on here of some of the members with HFP ... I think you can visually see that it is very snug to the body.

Mine is mostly in the front corners. I talked to one of the service advisors and he said it was normal.

The HFP kit should fit perfectly.

Post a picture of it and we can tell you if it's normal or not. Mine doesn't have any "gaps" and it fits snug all the way around. I assume yours should too.

Indeed....I had the same problem on passenger side after I installed the front under spoiler. I bought some 3m double-side tape that is much better than what it came with....it worked like a champ.

I had to take the screws out of the inside fender and pull it back....It was a somewhat of a pain but I was able to get the old tape off and clean the fender and inner spoiler surfaces with Iso alcohol....Make sure you do this in warm weather say 65 -70+ ... I think my original problem was because I did this in a warm shop and about a half hour later I drove out into 20 degree F weather. About 2 days or so later I noticed the gap. Take your time and make damn certain the fender and inner portion of the spoiler (b4 applying the new tape) is really clean.

When I installed the front and rear on my sedan, I had noticable gap in the same areas posted above. But once i used the black spacers the gap disappeared!

When i purchased my front and rear lip, I was provided in the honda box with these black spacers (about 8 in total) that would be used when you screw in the sides of the lip.

I noticed that the gap was created when the screws went in too tight and caused that space. So once i re-read the instructions, I used the spacers as recommended.

Here is the install kit instructions:

http://www.collegehillshonda.com/ins...odyspoiler.pdf

On the first page shows the spacers for the sedan.

I just checked the instructions for the coupe...and it also has the spacers.

Hope that helps and makes sense. heh

I was told that this happens to almost all of them....the way the dealer fixed mine was by placing some washers where the lip bolts to the fender. They say none of them come from the factory perfect and everyone has to adjust them in some way.
