Question Si exhaust tip tip?

Anyone replace just the tip of the exhaust on a '06 Si? Don't like the black plug/spacer they use in the oval outlet tip. The sound isn't bad at all but the black spacer bugs me. Was considering replacing the entire muffler assy with a HFP unit or other but it's hard to justify replacing a perfectly good exhaust at this point. Car only has 5000 miles. Found some very nice oval Borla exhaust tips that should work fine but wondering if removing the stock tip is possible without cutting, etc. Also, anyone know what the actual pipe diameter is at the muffler exit? Thinking that it's 2.25 inches.
