Question Question about new tint.

All the windows on my coupe look fine except the back one since a different type of film was used. Is it normal for it to look smeary until the adhesive settles? When you look through the rear view mirror the image warps a little due to the adhesive. There is a lifetime warranty so should I take it back to fix the problem?

Just got it today.. I think I remember him telling me to wait a few days for it to dry and what not, but I did't realize it was going to look like that. Did they do a shitty job or is this normal?

can you post a picture..you do have to wait for the liquid material to dry out that takes two or three days. it could also be that they did a bad job.

i will when I can. It's dark already and you wouldn't be able to see it right now. I hate dealers... I waited for 3 hours to get that tint and they give me shit. I swear.

it can be that they pressed to hard on the tint and it creates waves on the tint but a picture will really help.

The same exact thing happend to me. Its wet behind the tint so its going to look smeary for a couple of days. Especially the first night. Just let it evaporate and put your heater on whenever you can so it drys quicker. Before you notice itll be gone. Dont go back, YET.

and never turn on your rear window defroster or you will damage the tint.

Thanks guys. Yeah it won't be a problem cuz it's not that cold here so I won't need the defroster and I won't be driving it all that much.

Don't turn it on until the tint fastener has time to dry out and you hear some nice crackling and popping, once the tint has cured then you can use your defroster.

You will NOT damage the tint.(unless it's saran wrap)

I installed my own tint, no problemos.

Yeah i interpreted that he meant don't use defroster while the tint was drying, that and I live in Texas, so I think I'll be safe.

I love you guys... I would be very angry if I didn't have you to ask. But then again by the time I got to the dealer to fix it, it probably would have already dried.

how did the dealer give you shit? i just moved to mckinney, and they seemed alright except for one thing. i brought in the TSB for the belt noise, but they didn't do it cuz they said it wasn't a recall and not necessary. i was thinking about going there for tint, but maybe not now.

When I had mine done they told me the defroster actually helps it cure. I still didn't turn it on (didn't need to at the time). Let me ask this, did anyone else have a problem with the tint sticking the the "dots" on the top of the back window? Mine kept coming down so finally I just had them cut it. It doesn't look terrible but I tried at least 5 times to get it to stay and it just wouldn't
