Well if it were me I would start with race headers and exhaust since you have an SI and K series sound incredible when they're loud
![]() Then I guess do something like intake, coilovers and a sway bar. That would be a good start for performance/handling. Exteriors totally up to you whatever you think looks good. My only advice for rims though is browse the forum and find some you like. Don't just look through online shops or magazines cause there's so many nasty rims out there. corsportusa.com is a good start for picking the right parts. I used to be like you, didn't know jack when I first got my Civic but then learned a crap ton after owning it.
Except you at least got an Si, so that's a good start. Makes me curious why you chose an Si when you didn't know anything about cars in the first place. Anyway, what are you looking to do to your car? Performance? Handling? Looks? There's a ton of places you can start from. |

Please ignore the troll above me.
K series refers to the k20z3 motor you have under the bonnet of your car. ![]() The phrase k series is used because similar variations of the motor are used in the acura RSX/TSX/CSX/RDX and the honda CRV/Civic Si. Allow me to give a brief run-down on your need to knows and acronyms, 8th Generation Civic come mainly in four trim levers LX, EX, Si, Hybrid. There are a total of five chassis codes in the USDM (United States Domestic Market): -two for the coupe FG1(non Si coupes), FG2(Si coupes) -three for sedans FA1(non Si sedan), FA3(Hybrid), and FA5(Si sedan) The non Si trims use the R18A1 motor. The motor is fairly powerful for a base engine with 140hp. The hybrid has a Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) lead 1.3 liter and get roughly 40mpg. __________________________________________________ _____________________ Other Acronyms, HFP(Honda Factory Performance)There is an accessorie line made by Honda called HFP. Some accesssories include a underspoiler kit (front/rear/sides), suspension, brake rotors, axle-back exhaust, and wheels. LSD(limited slip differential)- Instead of one wheels spinning when you burnout/lose traction both will. JDM(Japanese Domestic Market) FD1/FD2/FD5-these are more chassis codes for the JDM Civics and Acura CSX in Canada. Thats all I have the energy to explain. Explore the site and the tuner world. Represent your Civic with pride and don't be just another ass that gives civic owners a bad name. Welcome to 8th. Honda K engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |

well im really going for all but b/c it is an si performance doesn't have to be first priority. i guess atm id like to go in the appearance direction. i was looking into body kits but as ive read through these forums ive seen people talking about to my understanding resizing, are there any kits that just fit right on or do the all need prep work to get it to fit?
it mainly started b/c i had an automatic civic ex and i wanted a stick, and the only one i could do a straight trade for was to go down 2 years which i didn't mind and get my si. so thats my story in a nutshell lol. btw thank you nofate that all helped alot believe it or not. i didn't understand what half of that meant until now so tyvm lol. does anyone remember the need for speed games where you could get on there and like trick out your car in the garage and such? if there a website like that out there where you could do that and see what your car would look like with different kits and paint and rims and all that jazz?

Hmmm, i think Honda fans grew out of those body kits bro, at least not 8th civic fans i hope. So, look into HFP lip kit and you will be ok. Check out websites from sponsors here and make your mind, but i would search and ask first.
