Dome and map lights

i made a similar thread in the "lighting" section, but i guess that was the wrong place to post it ... so here goes:

i wanted to change my map light leds ... i know these are 3022 bulbs ...

but my local store has two types ... regular ones that just say 3022 and more impressive ones that say DE3022 .. theyr $10 more as well ...

would these work ?? whats the DE for ??

Not sure on the DE but I would go with LED bulbs from www.autolumination.com or www.superbrightleds.com

Do a search on LED lights and or map lights and you can see how many threads are about this. It uses a 9 bulb festoon led. I have red in mine but they have all colors and much cheaper than 10 bucks. More like 2-3 and 5 bucks shipping no matter how many bulbs

i guess i'll spend some $$ and find out

I have a set of white leds and blue leds. I use the whites in the morning while I read my paper and when I do night photo shoots I throw in the blues.

A buddy of mine put blue LEDs in his jeep dome light. He got them from superbrightLEDs as well. I gaurantee you will be happy with them. They were very bright, and have a cool color-tint to them. Like he said, you may want to keep the whites, or buy another set of white LEDs, for when you actually need to read a paper or map. The blues are bright, but they dont reflect off of paper well.

I got my festoons from these guys http://stores.ebay.com/Velocity-LEDs...ht_W0QQfsubZ10

check out the super HP led...it's not the typical 9 LED set up that most of the festoons have, as in the ones from superbrightleds.com. it's just 1 single high power LED, and i find it to be much more bright.

I'm really happy with them.
