the plastic cover that goes under your engine compartment?

Not sure if this is the correct place for this post so bare with me but I need to replace that big square plastic flap that protects the engine compartment from water and wind that is bolted on under the engine compartment.

Do to careless parking, I've damged it a bit when parking too close to curbs and with the recent snow storms we've had, snow has made it worse.

Is this flap really necessary to have? Is it expensive to replace or is it a easy DIY?

Thanks

its easy to replace. a bunch of clips maybe a bolt or two. it helps keep debris from being kicked up into the engine bay. absolutly necessary? nah but its good to have it there. no idea on cost

yeah its definitly good to have, not only does it protect and keep underneath clean, its used for aerodynamics characteristics. It keeps the bottom flat and smooth to prevent drag from wind and air traveling underneath the car.Just like a ferrari or lamborghini but on a much cheaper smaller scale prevents drag.
