First part to be covered... first timer too... i heart h8ters. **UPDATED**
well for the past couple of weeks ive had the itch to start a project that ive been wanting to do since i saw it on some honda builds over on honda-tech, and i thought i would take an approach at it...
so here are some of the pictures... ![]() thats really good stuff, sprays in an aerosol form, best ive worked with so far... ![]() uh oh.... whats this? ![]() during the alingment ![]() done with bottom part secured to hold the flaps of fabric ![]() installed ![]() further back.... i plan on re-wrapping the small piece of fabric on all the door's armrests, and maybe the fabric on the visors... and maybe just maybe depending on how i feal, i may do the headliner... but i think the headliner may be too much... it matches better than the pictures depict, the flash was on so it made the OEM seats and such alittle brighter than they really are. thanks for the all the comments!
im sure it'll get mixed opinions, but i think when i get the visor pieces done, and the door armrests done, it'll be a subtle accent. seats are a good idea... maybe like the centers of the seats, but im not sure... Last edited by honhon; 02-03-2010 at 10:36 PM. |

yeah. ive been looking up on the ocho on how to remove the door panels, so the wife and i may tackle that tomorrow.
im just wondering if the visors can be taken apart so i can get to the back of the fabric on them and then see if i can wrap them. |

well... i did some more... i read up by SEARCHING on how to remove the door panels, and right now i feel confident enough i could easily remove all 4 door panels off in about 5minutes, thats how easy they are to remove... honda just makes it so easy i love it!
anyways, heres the rest for tonight... i looked alittle at the visors, but im un-sure of them, and i dont want to ruin them. but i believe the little fabric piece on the back side would add alittle more touch of the pattern in just the correct amount... anyways... onto the pictures... no flash ![]() flash ![]() higher angle ![]() rear door ![]() centerconsole with the driver door in the backround ![]() there is a wrinkle here and there in the fabric, but because of the pattern you cant see it, and i tried to get most of the wrinkles to face the door panel so when it was all put back together you couldnt see them. and to tell you how easy this was... this is the first time ive ever tried something like this. im pretty mechincally inclined, but IMO i feal this is probably on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the hardest... i would honestly say probably about a low 3 high 2... and thats only because of getting the fabric just right with the wrinkles and such... and thanks for all of the comments so far... and no i cant do the baby seat.... lol |

actually... i have an odd idea... tomorrow my SI grille should be in, so im going to install it, and i have a bunch of this pattern left, so i may wrap my chrome stock grille with the fabric and use it for just photo shoots and meets... whenever i eventually start looking into local honda meets... lol

oh and just a note if anyone else attempts this... i took the stock fabric off the center console piece because there is padding underneath... but on the doors since the padding and fabric are one and actually glued to the armrest, i just glued over top of them with the new fabric...
and its always best as a reminder to put a light coat of glue on the backside of the fabric and the surface you are going to work on, let it set for a a min or 2, then apply the 2 pieces together. |
