Fog Light Covers.

Does anyone know of any aftermarket companies that sell fog light covers for 08 FG2? I have gone through 3 sets of fog lights, as they have all gotten broken from rocks. I tired of wasteing my money replaceing the dam fog light.

Or if I could get the original black inserts to fill the hole where the fog light would go, I could just take the fogs out all together.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks Adam

how do you mean covers? I used lamin-x overlays.. they are burnt and I need to replace them. Bart on this site, screen name portabuddy has very tough and highheat pre-cuts lenses that might do the trick.. i am planning on replaing those in the spring

good luck

What I mean is something to physically to cover the whole fog light. Preferably made out of plastic or pvs or something along those lines. It would need to have a little bit of clearance to allow it to absorb the impacts of the rocks. So that the glass/lense would not get damaged. Dowfall to this is, that if I wanted to use my Fogs, i would have to take the covers off. I'll try and come up with a picture to show what I am refering too.

Thanks Adam

This is what I would want. Pic I made on paint. Obviously it would need clips on it to hold it in place. But hopefully this will give you an idea of what i am looking for.

Note: Fog light cover would go directly over the Fog light area. It would need to have clips on it or something of the sort to hold it in place. I would alos try and keep a 1CM gap between the cover and lens. To allow space for the cover to absorb the impact.

I honestly don't think lexan would help me a whole lot. I'm sure it would last longer than the original glass, but with all the Semi's and other larger vehicles out here coming from Rig roads. then hitting the highway doing 100+ kms. $hit starts flying everywhere. I have my windshield cracked in several places. Hell I even had my sunroof smashed from flying rocks from vehicles around me. Ohh and the broken fog lights that are in my are now are my 3rd set of OEM ones.

I would want a cover that would allow me to fully protect my fogs. And allow me to remove the cover if I want to use my fogs.

Thansk Adam

May be try vacuum form an acrylic over the fog housing, then use screw to attach it to the fog?

You have never driven on alberta highways. There is a Sh!tload of semi's towing big ass equipment around, from out in the bush, not to mention that every second vehicle out here is Truck with bigazz tires.....So they have rocks and mud stuck to them. They hit the highway and sh!t starts flying. I also drive approximetly 800km per week on the highway.

Anyways. Does anybody have any suggestions on how I should go about making a foglight cover, or where I may be able to purchase one.

1. Make your own
2. Market it to 8thcivic users.
3. Mass-produce it
4. Profit.

Mine are now completly smashed out. They nned to be replaced. I'm hoping I can come up with something to protect the new ones when not in use. I may still put some lamin-x on the new ones just for a little added strenght.

graifix expressions sells clear and yellow overlays. They are awesome for the cheap price. I first put on my fogs and 2 weeks later cracked one. Replaced it and put these overlays on and they really increase the strength of the plastic. I totally recommend them. Also dont tailgate! lol
