change front seats?

i was wondering what i would have to do in order to get aftermarket seats to fit in our car. one of my friends just picked up a set of type r replicas off of ebay for his integra. even though at first i was a little skeptical about the quality, i must say they are well built and pretty comfortable. so if i were to pick them up, what would i have to do to get them in?

the quality of those seats must be terrible...125$ for a pair?? a good set of aftermarket seats usually go for like 1000 each.

I dunno, i guess for the cheapness of price, itll last as long as they do and you get your thrill.

You asked a question and the first post is telling you how much they suck. This is the direction this site is going. Everytime someone posts something about a non-name brand item, its garbage. Anyways, I read somewhere that when you remove your seats with the airbags in them it'll give you a SRS light and I think there is another issue. There is a thread somewhere about using aftermarket seats if you want to search for it, should be able to answer more of your questions.

resident /b/tard..
what kind of car are you driving?

IMO youd be better off going with the DIY seats. check it here: Diy fabric change on seats.

its a cheap alternative to aftermarket, and you wont set off any sensors like you would if you changed to aftermarket seats.

I highly doubt a $125 pair of seats is going to hold up in an accident.

Sorry, I dont have an answer to your question... but I thought I would just ask a quick question;

How well do you expect those $65 seats to hold up in a collision?

thanks for the info guys, but the question in the first post wasnt about the quality of the seats. i feel like i can make a decision of a seat that i want in my car.

the question was what i need to do in order to get things straight. i see some people put the real recaro type r or the bride seats in their car. i can get them mounted in the car no problem, but for the seatblet wiring? the airbag system?

you jus need seat rails and brackets for your car

and your airbag light will be on...thats it

you can put a low ohm resistor inline on the airbag wires to get rid of the srs light (i think) should be able to search that one...

Most of the time your just paying for the NAME, which adds on like 5-10 times the actual cost of the item.

Im not sure but when you disconnect one airbag, then all the airbags wont deploy when you get into an accident.

I wanted to chage my seats, but didnt want safety to be an issue, so i just changed my interiors to leather/vinyl etc.

is there any companies that make a pigtail or anything i can just plug in? is that clip under the seat the only thing that tells the computer about the airbags? or is there sensors in the seats that pick up the bags?

Did you order the seats already?
just get you seats re upholstered or DIY it like i did if you can.

In order to get them in, you would have to get the rail for the seats or might have to get them installed coz im pretty sure the holes dont line up..
Unless its specifically for the 8th gen

the seats are not only for looks but weight as well. so keeping my stock seats isnt an option.

is the clip under the seat what tells the computer about the seatbelts/srs? what if i were just to loop it so it reconizes the seat?

sensors for the passenger side which tells the computer to turn off/on the airbag.

No you cant loop it, theres a signal that the airbag send to the unit and back
