Shift Knob ... help..

I am an idiot when it comes to upgrading anything other than my audio system...

I took off the shift knob of my EX Coupe and inspected to see how easy it would be to install a new knob. It seems straightforward enough EXCEPT for the fact that there is the plastic clip attached to the OEM knob that is required to attach the boot...

Any suggestions??

I purchased a Skunk2 knob from CorSport and an Auger shift boot. If you order a boot from Auger and specify that it's for an aftermarket knob, it will work fine.
