Sunrise over GG Si: Rain X and dewdrops
My home base is Seattle, products like Rain-X are well-suited to our climate. Though I'm still in L.A., I saw some Rain-X wipes at the auto parts store the other day, and grabbed some, and used it after washing my Si on Saturday.
This morning I took a few snaps, here's one (question: how do I post a photo so it appears at normal size on the page instead of as a thumbnail?) Any other window treatment aficianados have favorite products they recommend? |

"is that a scratch on your bumper?"
Yup. It's on my list of projects. Haven't decided what to do yet. Among the options I'm considering: 1. Using the DYI sticky as a guide, touching it up myself. 2. Having the bumper removed and professionally repainted 3. (my current favorite) using it as an excuse to get a Front Under Spoiler, and have fog lights installed at the same time. Since I don't have the tools, patience, or the expertise to do all but the simplest mods myself, I'd have it done at a shop. I wonder if the labor would be cheaper to have these done at same time? |

"Doesnt the RainX make your wipers jump and skip when its on?"
That's the strangest thing I've ever heard. Wipers behave no differently. I just changed the wiper blades, too, so they're razor sharp and super smooth, brand new. Have you had problems with your wipers when using Rain-X, asndragonboii? Main benefit: instead of beading up on the surface of the glass, water rolls right off, leaving the surface clean, improving visibility in bad weather, and windshield wipers work better in good weather. The surface isn't noticably different; it's not tacky, skippy, or jumpy when blades move across. If anything, the surface is smoother and cleaner. |

"I didnt know Rain X made wipers for the 06 civic model"
To be clear, I bought Rain X wipes, the cylindrical tube container kind, where you pull out individual paper applications sheets. Disposable wipes, so to speak. The sheets are dry, fragile, and sheds particles. It's an unusual way to apply the stuff, but more convenient than using the product from a bottle. Speaking of windshield wipers, the Civic Si has LONG wiper blades. The deeply-raked windshield calls for a set made for that model, available through Honda. My local Honda didn't even have the part in stock, they ordered it for me. Only took a few days, but I got an extra set, so I don't have to order again next time they need changing. |

i use the rain-x in my washer bottle. that stuff is way easier to put on b/c all u have to do is pull the wiper switch back and it sprays on the rain-x and wipes it clean. ppl always wonder y i don't use my wipers when it rains until they sit in my car and see how it just runs off.
PS: i don't use regular rain-x stuff, it's a special kind for the washer bottle.

I'm addicted to Rain X. Once you use it, you're hooked! I love that first rain after you apply it. As soon as you hit like 5 mph, and all the water just slicks off. It's awesome.
