Legal Tint limit in Vancouver?

Hey all,

just wondering if anyone knew the legal tint limit for the 604?
Oh, and is it true that some tint jobs turn purple after a while??

thanks in advance!

Walmart-cheap tint turns purple

Legal limit in BC for the front windows is no tint, except for what comes from the factory (re: Mercedes-benz "blue" glass option...)
As long as you're not an asshole, police will generally give you no troubles with >50% in the front.

No restrictions on windows rear of the driver, as long as the car has a passenger side mirror.

Finally, use the search buttion/ google. This has been brought up a million times.

if you have your window tint done at a reputable shop (N-Motion or Apple Auto Glass, for example) they usually have lifetime warranties against peeling, bubbling, or discoloration. i got mine from N-Motion in Richmond for $190 for all 5 windows on my Si @ 50%. if there are any problems they will re-do it. they use Solargard.

it is illegal to have any aftermarket films/tints on windows in front of your shoulders (this is what the Motor Vehicle Act says). however, many many people in Vancouver have front tints, expecially high-end cars (7 Series, S Class) and tuner cars. i didn't want to go darker than 50% coz i'm sure i'll attract unwanted attention. it's been 6 months now, and i haven't been pulled over. *knock on wood*

as for the rear windows, i'm not sure what the limit is - some people say 15%, others say you can completely block it out (hey, panel vans don't have rear windows right? and that's legal). but be logical when choosing tint grades. rain on your windows makes it darker.
