Custom Rear Diffuser

Well since i couldn't find anyone who makes rear diffusers for our si coupes, i decided to make my own. Started with making a fiberglass copy of my friends s2k j's racing one and posted pics of me fitting it on the car.

Let me know what you think.

Going to eventually have the design look more the like fd2 rear diffuser from j's racing, but looks pretty good for now. I will post up the fiberglass mold once I have time to finish it. My friend will then make one out of dry carbon fiber.

i hope it sits alot more flush than where you have it taped up now. Cause its hideous being like 6 inches away from the bumper and all.

Never Again!
Awesome! Really thinking outside the box. It is creativity like this that births new idea and designs. I really like it. Keep us posted. We Si owners have been sadly neglected in the aero department. Keep up the good work!

Here are a few additional pictures to help with the visualization (car is on HFP suspension, and the diffuser is not yet mounted; the pictures show it sitting on foam boards):

haha thank you! my friend who is helping me out said that the spoon s2k diffuser would bolt up perfect, nice shot. I definitely still want to use those ends, they actually do serve a purpose plus this look cool. I still think the j's racing was a good start since i dont have a hfp rear.

This really begs the quesion... WHY?
We need to put this into perspective here. Don't get me wrong, I love my civic, but a diffuser is unnecessary for a car this slow. Also, (unrelated) a Mugen wing is also completely unnecessary. Even Lamborghinis and Ferraris do not have spoilers that large, nor are their diffusers even close to the size of what you are trying to make. People will fly by you in their stock BMW 325is laughing to themselves at how silly your car looks while keeping in mind its less than stellar performance. Just accept the si for what it is- a sporty, compact, economy car, and stop trying to make it something that it's not.

I thinkh s car looks good, and I think you need to wake up to the fact that people are free to express themselves threw there car however they like, if you have a problem with that then you are more then welcome to remove yourself from this thread and never please us with your unnecessary and ignorant/close minded posts

Maybe I came across a bit hostile as it is impossible to convey tone over the internet.... I agree, the car looks fantastic, but as far as functionality goes, the time and money spent on this seems a bit crazy. Also- through and their, and ignorant, I am not. People need to stop misusing the word.

You did come across hostile, didn't know you didn't mean it that way
