Short Shifter questions

So after a million hours of fighting with the blue cap I have my short shifter on. And I did it alllllllll on my own except for having someone get the blue cap off for me lol
So my question is.. Is it supposed to feel really hesitant? I know it's shorter and the cable is tighter. But, that's not the feeling I'm getting it just feels rough. Is that how it's supposed to be?

Mine feels notchier than before I had the SS on it. Also, 6th gear is harder to get into now.

But the tradeoff is worth it to me. I'm happy with the shorter throw. My next upgrade will probably be the solid bushings for the shifter mount and cables.

Since I've put mine in...it got a little "looser". I let other people drive it, but they might have pushed it harder into gear than I do, so that may have loosened it up some. Mine now fees like stock, just shorter throwing, and less "crunch" like you seem to be experiencing.

I don't think it seems that much shorter

Ah man i am supposed to get my twm shortshifter + Bushings and type-r shiftknob tomorrow. I hope that the feeling of the shortshifter and bushings is noticeably better than stock. Il post how it feels tomorrow to see if it can be of any help.

Well, I don't claim to be knowledgeable in short-shifters, but it would seem to me that with a shorter throw, you have less leverage to shift the stick in position, so it makes sense that it feels harder to move.
