body on our cars

... ok so this isn't more than a rant... but do you guys also feel the body on our cars so like a tin can? so soft you can dent it with your hand?

a while ago i noticed that i put a small crease on my trunk lid just from closing it.... last weekend my less then genius friend tripped over a rock and touched my trunk lid with his hand while he lost his balance... guess what..another crease.... they are not large and can not be seen when looking directly but under an angle with some light you can definately see small dents... now i know they're trying to make em light but dude... if i can dent my trunk with my hand if it comes to contact with a real steel SUV it (and I) has no chance. you guys dent your bodies so easily too?

The body on your car is supposed to dent and crumple in an accident to help distribute qdn absorb the impact so your body is not taking the mass blow.

Yep, it's rather embarrasing. Wish it was built like a 70's Plymouth.
