3m Colorstable tint on civic

so i have been thinking about getting my windows tinted ,even though i am from upstate ny and our laws are ridiculous, and i really wanted some good quality tint.

Does anyone have any experience with the quality of the product? I was quoted for $299 for my sedan with all windows tinted at 35%. I might even consider the 50%. I am not doing this for pure aesthetics, it's more about the benefits that tint does offer and i plan on keeping my car for a while.

why not go with a clear tint? It helps block UV rays and keeps a lot of heat out. See if your tint installer can provide you with some.

if youre not doing it for asethetic purposes, youre better off with ceramic. it blocks out more uv/heat

I have the 3M that I just put on last week.
I paid 250 for the rear doors and rear window and a glare strip on the front windshield.

Guaranteed to never fade to purple. I even got a lifetime warranty card and can take it to ANYWHERE that does 3M.

I have to say I am quite pleased with it. I can't remember which is which but one of them is not recommended if you have Navi.

When I spoke to the guy at the tint shop, he told me a little about the 3m colorstable. He mentioned that it’s safe for any electronic device (gps, cell phone, radar detector, etc) and it does come with a lifetime warranty that is in effect at any 3m retailer.

not sure if you have that one but 3m colorstable is dark in color whereas the other ones that 3m offers are lighter.

Yeah I have the 3M colorstable - there was a 3M that provided better heat resistance but it was not the choice for the Navi. I remember him saying it was crystallized or something of that nature.

I will take some pics when I get home - I have to leave right now to pick up the GF for lunch. But I will be sure to post it and the %age when I come back.

Here's one from yesterday that I have on my iPhone. It was already like 815pm.

I've got 3m crystalline @ 40%, which gives me a 37% net VLT. It provides an added amount of UV & heat rejection over the Color Stable tint. It's GPS/electronic device friendly (no metal).

You want to stay away from the 3m Black Chrome or 3m FX-HP series if you want 0 problems with your electronics (metallized tint).

3m color stable or crystalline is fine.

I paid $230 for 9 windows w/3m crystalline 40 and my sunroof with 3m CS20.
