This is Rediculous!

After 26,000 km on my Acura, the leather is creasing and cracking!! It looks the same as my friends Integra with 110,000 km.

Is this normal to you guys?? Im gonna try and get the dealer to replace my whole seat cover! Im 160 pounds!! I wonder what would happen if a bigger person sat in my car..

It looks a bit worse in person.

way to go, fatty.

j/k idk what to tell you.

i think it may have something to do with how often you get in/out of the car. is it only happening on the door side of the seat?

lol ya its only on that side...everything else looks nice. Ive heard of alot of people getting the seat covers replaced because of this, cause leather seats in other cars DO NOT do this. Maybe with old age and alot of sitting time...but my car was hardly driven and not in the sunlight very much.

Leather is awesome, really comfy....but Acura/Honda leather sucks and im gonan fight them to replace it.

It's because that's the most used seat.

have you ever owned a car with leather interior? None of the audi's BMW'S have this and the ones ive driven in hav over 50,000 km and are 4 or 5 years old. My friends 2001 BMW 3 series has 220,000 km and it doesnt look bad! Mine on the other hand at 220,000 wouldnt even survive at this rate!

here in the south we hate leather....in the summer time u get burned getting in ....and when u get out ur skin gets ripped off from sticking to the seats...and in the winter time u get in and the seats are so cold that u have shrinkage issues

only good thing about leather are the heated seats in the winter... doesn't justify me buying a car for that.

Do you condition or protect your leather? Is it exposed to unusually high heat where you live?

Even considering those things, your leather shouldn't have aged so prematurely.
ejac

thank you for the first sensible comment I actually did condition and clean the seats. I ordered a much better product (ZAINO Z-9 AND 10) its supposed to help alot more.

I agree that the leather has aged alot for the time its been used! Thats the main reason im gonna fight acura on this and get them to replace it!

If not, im just gonna wait till the seats die, and get Si seats cause i LOve those seats!!!

Here in montreal, quebec it can get really hot...i guess not as hot as the desert but it can get to mid 30's as a max, plus with the sun beating down on a car it can feel hotter. But yah it does get a bit burny...but after a few seconds its not bad at all.

Leather is really comfy and feels good, as far as the cold seats in the winter, well thats what a remote starter and heated seats are for! lol, its cold as hell in the car even without leather.

Ive used cloth since ive been driving and i figured, hey, it came with the car, i got the car at a good price, so why not.

it was between a CSX with leather, HID, Sweet sound system,...or a CSX without leather, HID and that sweet sound system! lol...and the price difference was almost nothing.
