Is someone doing a fiberglass project? I want to help.
Well... I have nothing interesting to do in my summer. I was watching some videos of how to do custom fiberglass for sub woofer but it looks complicated. If possible, can someone teach me how to do it? I want to learn everything about modding car aesthetically (audio, widebody, etc) for now, so anything to do with it i would like to help....(hope is help and not annoy heheh).
I live in Los Angeles and for now, i dont know anybody who can help me.... Thanks!! Last edited by nehc02; 06-28-2009 at 01:58 PM. |

I just read your entire post and realized what you were asking...sorry. I will leave this up in case you want to tackle one on your own.
i am currently in the final stages of my fiberglass enclosure in the spare tire well. It is super easy, I got all my info from the internet. I just searched google and yahoo for fiberglass sub enclosure and things along that lines. The process is super easy its just time consuming. Prep work is the key, proper prep will make the clean up very easy. Parts you'll need: Fiberglass mat(chop mat medium thickness) I used a 5 yard by 50 in. section $30 Poylester resin and hardner(dont go cheap, about $30 a gallon) and you will need at least a gallon i used more than a gallon paint brushes at least a few(its easier to throw them away than to clean them) A bucket to mix the harder in(mix in a ratio the resin tells you I did 7.5mm-i think to 32oz of resin) blue masking tape about 2" thick large heavy duty aluminum foil A mask for the fumes gloves cause resin sucks when its in your arm hair long sleeve shirt and something to cut the mat This should be a good starting point for you. I had no help or guidance outside of the internet pages i used as a reference, if you want i can link them to you when i get how and i can get you some pics of my project and a few of the process. Thanks hbracer... yes, the key is the prep... Well, I can easily follow diy's posted in the forum but still lack the guts to do fiberglass by myself hehehe. Still, it will be awesome if you can post the links and the pics of your project. I want to read as much as i can and be prepare for the real deal.
