Removed door ding

Hi,

Has anyone removed a door ding from the inside out? Particularly behind the driver? I'm trying to figure out if I can remove the panel below the rear side window in order to gain access to the rear quarter panel laminate.

depending on how big and deep the ding is, you can pop it out with dry ice.

I had a door ding recently, and the dry ice method did not work, at all. I think it depends on the particular dent (if it's a creased dent, and most dents from other doors hitting your door will be, then forget about it). I had a paintless dent removal guy remove mine. It's nearly invisible and you really really really have to know where it is to see it. He only charged me $35.

The have a set of metal rods of varying length and thickness. They will used existing holes (water drains, etc) around the car to get to the dent if possible. Sometimes using the window slot. If they can't get to the dent they will drill a hole to access the area behind the dent. They will then plug the hold with a rubber seal. Sometimes this is not possible due to metal support bars and such. They use a mirror on a flexible arm to view the dent as it is being worked on to see that the dent is being pulled out right.

The effectiveness of the dent fix is based on location of the dent some dents are easier to fix then others. Also, if the paint is scratched off in that area, it can't be fixed.
