I used to hate tint. I've had a few cars and never had tint on any of them because I also thought it looked a lot cleaner. I wasn't planning on tinting this one either but I had the chance to get it done for free so I took it. Now I love it. I think if you get a good tint job and don't go crazy it making it dark it looks nice. Go for it if you hate it, it may be a pain to do but it always comes off.

Back window is only difficult to the tinter due to the little black bumps at the top. Some tinters will cut away a line so they dont go over the little black bumps. A good tinter can go over the bumps and make them so they dont trap air and sooner-then-later the tint wont start to bubble and peel. Just ask your window tinter and see what he/she says. You CAN tint over the bumps and it WILL stay if the tinter knows what they are doing and are patient.

My back window looks fine.... Where the matrix dots are the tint isn't pushed all the way down in between them but right up to the ends of them it's perfect so it doesn't look bad at all. I can go back and have it pushed down if I want but it's not bothering me. Good luck with the tint if you decide to get it done. IMO I think it makes the car look totally different

Reason I'd consider getting any tint (maybe lighter than 20% even if you don't like the dark window look) simply because of the heat reduction quality of good tint jobs.
I had a VW Rabbit that I tinted myself for much less than anyone charged, it definitely kept the car much cooler in florida. Reason I know is because I then bought a non-tinted 7th Gen Civic and the sun through the non-tinted window was just about un-bearable. And yeah, VA tint laws do suck. I'm ordering mine without, then getting 20% when I get to Seattle. |

Yeah I have a RR SI and I am going to go 35%, stupid Army make me move so much I can never have a permanent home. I know members on here have RR with 35, 20 and 5, personally i would say 20 is the limit. Unless you have some blackish rims, not dirty I mean black, then 5% will be a little bit contrasting IMHO.

Don't feel bad about having a permanent home. I just moved back to the East Coast after 12 years of bouncing around the U.S. at the Navy's will and now they called my butt back up to active duty. I'm leaving again. I can't win for loosin'.
