Question Can you put an 09 Sedan Si grille on a 09 Sedan LX/EX?

Its been mentioned in other topics but I never received a clear answer to my inquiry. So can you put the new 09 Si sedan grille on the new 09 LX/EX models? I am just getting so sick of the chrome. No, I can't paint it my self as I am not experienced enough to do such thing. I want the legit piece of the grille rather than having it painted. I don't know if the 09 is too new or recent but I haven't seen much of the exterior modifications available for the 09 modeled civics.

Hopefully I can get my answer answered this time around. If the grill conversion is possible, where can I get the Si sedan grille? Thanks!

why don't you try rattle canning it? saves you money, just takes time and a few coats.

I would say spray paint it, just as good if u take your time with a couple of coats. Jus tdont forget to clear coat it! Save yourself some money

GL if u do decide to do the swap its not hard

Wow, what a friendly bunch. Convex has 14 posts and has been on this site for not even a month. Chill the hell out and when you guys can start offering advice or a link to a subject that is talked about too much, then you can talk sh*t. You start off with this attitude like you all are the greatest things to the internet. None of us are Steve Jobs, Bill Gates or Al Gore () so I really doubt we are the end all, be all of internet knowledge.

Either help out or get out and find a whore thread to be a little troll in.

Convex, judging by the fact that the grille was interchangeable on the previous year SIs and LX/EX, etc, I'm going to say yes. I know you're looking for an exact answer but that would take either some serious digging around on this site and maybe a few others, or just biting the bullet and being the guinea pig. If it doesn't work, you can always sell the grille later. Good luck.

for those of you who did offer advice, thank you and ignore my above rant.

didn't know that the grille added 57hp. the chrome grille is fugly, so i don't blame anyone wanting to change it out. and why would you get the tl ype s badge when you could get the csx type s badge. you jumped on the assumption that he has going to keep the si badge on it.

x2

i personally think that a lot of posts lately people have not been searching and it seems like were reading the same question over and over again. i have no problem helping someone out but from reading the op's other threads it just doesn't seem like he's doing any searching.

i know that there have been several topics on this issue but none of them have a clear specific answer. just about everyone on this topic on the other threads just say to either paint it or they're pretty sure it will fit, which is not good enough for me. i just created this thread so i can finally get a clear response so i can get rid of my chrome grille already.

i don't want you to think i'm picking on you. i do think you were the first to ask about the 09 grille. (more just talking about the bolt pattern and size wheel nuts you would need) i 100% agree on the chrome grille. my gf is thinking of getting a 8th gen sedan and i told her the first thing she HAS to do is swap that grille out. lol.

it's a new style. but they should be able to order it for you. did you try the college hills honda website. they seem to be able to get anything and everything. or atleast they can tell you why. http://www.hondapartsdeals.com/hpa_parts_list.php?vin=&Label[ProductID]=CIVIC&Label[YearID]=2009&Label[DoorID]=4&Label[GradeID]=SI&Label[AreaID]=KA&Label[TransmissionID]=6MT&Label[SectionID]=INTERIOR+%2F+BUMPER&Label[IllustrationGroupID]=FRONT+GRILLE&ProductID=4&YearID=40&DoorID=4&Grade ID=11&AreaID=2&TransmissionID=8&SectionID=7&Illust rationGroupID=17196

I'm guessing its the: 71122-SVJ-A50ZA - 2 - MOLDING, FR. GRILLE *NH547* that I need in order to replace the chrome right? Do I need anything else?

THE MOLDING FR. GRILLE IS #2 ON THE PICTURE!
