Concern about HFP lip kit

Hi, I purchased a new 2009 4dr civic si with the HFP lip kit. The HFP lip kit did not came with the car but was added as an accessories with the car. I did this so I can have 3 year warranty coverage on it.

I dropped of my car to dealer to get it installed. I picked up the car and did not have a chance to inspect the lip kit.

I was able to inspect it the next day. I noticed that one side skirt is lower then the other in middle section.

Another thing I noticed was the double side tape holding bracket for the side skirt was peel off already or was not tape all the way.

I grabbed a credit card and was able to slide it between the side shirt and bracket to push the double side tape onto the car.

This disappoint me because I consider it to be a bad install and I paid a lot for the labor.

Question:

Is it normal to have one side skirt is lower then the other in middle section?

Should there be any play with the side skirt? (I mean very little movement)

Bring it back & tell them to do it right. Make them document everything in case you have problems with it later on, then you can show someone they didn't install it right in the first place.

this has been a problem with a lot of members. i too had this problem, i took it to the dealer who installed it for me and had them redo it twice. after that i got tired of having a mechanic do body work so i took it to another dealership who actually has a collision center. they kept the car for about 5 days (went on a trip thats why it is so long, was told they only really need it for a full day) they used the best double sided tape from 3m. since then never had the problem. so i always recommend to people to give them time for them to do it right and if you have the choice have a body shop do it and not a mechanic shop.

and as for the spelling error i can't believe you actually wasted space in this thread to actually point out a very small spelling error. you must be "Perfect"! your new to the site so maybe you should keep your smart a** comments to yourself!

Yeah no way it can be lower in the middle on one side without the whole thing being lower.

the biggest thing with this kit or any kit as a matter fact is it needs to be clean, dry, and a medium temperature out and then it needs some time to adhere. so if your not going to allow for those conditions i wouldn't even bother having it fixed cause it will keep happening.
